Manuscripts should be submitted electronically via the IJELHE official email:
Authors are encouraged to consult these guidelines carefully before submission to ensure compliance with the journal's editorial and publication requirements.
SUBMISSION PREPARATION CHECKLIST
Before submitting a manuscript, authors should ensure that the following requirements have been fulfilled. Manuscripts that do not comply with these requirements may be returned for revision prior to peer review.
- The manuscript is original, has not been published previously, and is not under consideration by another journal or publisher.
- All authors have approved the manuscript and agreed to its submission to IJELHE.
- The corresponding author agrees to participate fully in the editorial and peer-review process until a final editorial decision has been made.
- Requests to withdraw a manuscript must be submitted in writing to the Editor-in-Chief before acceptance.
- The manuscript is prepared using the latest IJELHE Manuscript Template.
- The submission is in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format.
- The manuscript is between 10 and 15 pages (approximately 5,000 words), including tables, figures, and references.
- All pages are formatted in portrait orientation.
- References have been prepared according to the APA 7th Edition referencing style, with DOIs or URLs provided where available.
- The manuscript has been carefully proofread to ensure clarity, grammatical accuracy, and appropriate academic English.
- The manuscript has been anonymised to facilitate double-blind peer review.
- A brief cover letter accompanies the submission, including the names, affiliations, and institutional email addresses of three (3) suggested reviewers who have no conflict of interest with the authors.
- A Declaration of Generative AI in the Writing Process, where applicable, has been included in the manuscript.
- A plagiarism similarity report (e.g., Turnitin or equivalent) is included for editorial screening.
MANUSCRIPT REQUIREMENTS
The International Journal on e-Learning and Higher Education (IJELHE) publishes original scholarly works in the fields of e-learning, digital education, educational technology, and higher education.
Submitted manuscripts must:
- be written in English;
- present original research that has not been published or submitted elsewhere;
- contribute significantly to theory, practice, or policy;
- comply with the journal's ethical and publication standards.
The journal welcomes:
- Original Research Articles
- Review Articles
- Case Studies
All submissions undergo an initial editorial screening followed by a double-blind peer-review process.
MANUSCRIPT FORMAT
Authors must prepare their manuscripts using the IJELHE Manuscript Template.
General formatting requirements include:
- Paper size: A4 (210 × 297 mm)
- Font: Times New Roman, 11 pt
- Single-column format
- Standard page margins
- Section headings in UPPERCASE and Bold
- Continuous page numbering
The manuscript should normally contain the following sections:
- Introduction
- Literature Review (where appropriate)
- Methodology
- Results and Discussion
- Conclusion
- Acknowledgements (if applicable)
- Funding
- Authors' Contributions
- Conflict of Interest Declaration
- Declaration of Generative AI in the Writing Process (where applicable)
- References
An abstract of not more than 250 words and 5-6 keywords should accompany each manuscript.
Authors should cite a minimum of 20 scholarly references, with preference given to recent and relevant literature.
All references and citations must conform to the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (APA), 7th Edition.
PLAGIARISM SCREENING
All submitted manuscripts will be screened using Turnitin or an equivalent plagiarism detection software.
As a general guideline, manuscripts should demonstrate an overall similarity index of 20% or less, excluding references, quotations, and properly cited material. The Editorial Board reserves the right to reject manuscripts that exhibit evidence of plagiarism, excessive text similarity, or other forms of academic misconduct.
PEER REVIEW
IJELHE employs a double-blind peer-review process.
Each manuscript is evaluated by at least two independent reviewers based on:
- originality;
- significance and contribution to knowledge;
- methodological rigour;
- clarity of presentation; and
- relevance to the journal's scope.
Authors may suggest three potential reviewers. The Editorial Board reserves the sole right to determine the final selection of reviewers.
ARTICLE SCREENING
Before being sent for peer review, every manuscript undergoes an initial editorial assessment to determine compliance with:
- the journal's scope;
- manuscript formatting requirements;
- language quality;
- ethical standards;
- plagiarism screening; and
- completeness of submission documents.
Manuscripts that fail to satisfy these requirements may be returned to authors for revision before entering the review process.
COPYRIGHT AND LICENCING
Authors retain the copyright of their published work.
Upon acceptance, authors grant IJELHE a non-exclusive licence to publish, archive, disseminate, and identify itself as the original publisher of the article.
All published articles are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution–NonCommercial 4.0 International (CC BY-NC 4.0) Licence, which permits non-commercial use, sharing, adaptation, and redistribution of the work, provided appropriate credit is given to the original author(s) and IJELHE is acknowledged as the original publisher.
ARTICLE PROCESSING CHARGE
IJELHE does not charge any fees for manuscript submission, peer review, article processing, or publication.
Accepted articles are published free of charge under the journal's open-access policy.
